Midwest Management Inc
Our History

Midwest Management was incorporated in 1987 in Aurora, Illinois, as a partnership between Hazel M. Pintozzi and her son, Rocky.

Hazel Pintozzi (1922 - 2006) and her siblings managed multiple properties between 1967 and 1987, and Rocky began learning the family business at an early age.

Hazel and Rocky built their first hotel, the Comfort Inn at Fox Valley, shortly after incorporating. The location they chose was undeveloped at the time, and they were instrumental in acquiring zoning, as well as developing roads and the infrastructure for what is now Commons Drive. This made way for the Meridian Business Campus.

Due to their early efforts, the Westfield Fox Valley Mall area is now bustling with shopping, restaurants and businesses.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aurora/Naperville opened in 1995, shortly after the Hollywood Casino set sail in downtown Aurora. It was the first hotel to open in downtown Aurora in 64 years. Midwest Management still owns and operates this property.

Soon after, former Chicago Bear and pro football Hall of Famer Walter Payton invested $9 million to convert Aurora's 130-year-old limestone roundhouse into Walter Payton's Roundhouse complex. The businesses worked side-by-side until his untimely passing in November 1999. Now renamed and remodeled as the Two Brothers Brewing Company Roundhouse, it is a thriving facility made possible by Walter Payton's vision for downtown Aurora.

In 2001, Midwest Management opened the second of their two current hotels, the Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Aurora, which is just off I-88 and Orchard Road in Aurora. This entire area was not yet zoned, and parts were not even annexed in to the City of Aurora. Midwest Management acquired, annexed, and zoned it, and they developed the infrastructure, including what is now the Sullivan Road extension.

Through the shared vision of Midwest Management and the Pintozzi family, an area that was once zoned for manufacturing became a thriving tax base for the city and a feeder for more development on the far west side of Aurora.

The company currently has two more hotel flags under development. Call (630) 896-9560 for more information.
